I am interested in mounting a "TRIK-L-START" battery minder. They suggest attaching it on either side of the battery isolator. Does anyone know where it is located?

Hi Bruce,

On our 2002 Journey on the battery isolater is mounted behind the removeable panel behind the hood of the motorhome. After your remove the panel to access the fuses, you'll see a large solenoid device with two large red battery cables attached to either side of it. One of those red wires goes to each of the two battery banks.

As a double check to make sure you've identified the right solenoid, have a helper press the emergency start switch on the dash board and you'll hear the isolater solenoid when it connects the two battery banks together.

The engine/chassis side of the isolator will have a blue colored wire attached. The house side will have a yellow.

Funhouse: The other replies give you the proper tips. Additional tips: remove the 10 or so screws holding the metal trim the access door attaches to. This is easy and gives you enough room to cut away and dig out the foam insulation around the posts you need to attach the connectors to. Becareful not to short the system. Digging the foam out took most of the install time. Good luck.
