New generator, how to reset hour meter?

We are getting a brand new generator this week. Installer says there's no way to reset the hourmeter on the panel inside the RV. Is this true? Seems pretty silly to me, as wouldn't we want to be counting the hours on the new generator from zero?

They do make resettable hour meters but I've never seen one of those in an RV. If I did, I would be suspicious of whatever values it displayed. I replaced my hour meter when it went bad. The first one was a low cost unit from Amazon that died after three months. Based on other recommendations from RV forums, I replaced that with a VDO hour meter from NAPA that has been working great so far. It was a little more expensive but at least it works.
