Onan Generator Carb Rebuild? 1999 Adventurer 35C

Video showing my generator surging. It does this mainly when under load (AC on).

I’m guessing maybe I should get a new carb?

Good luck finding a new carb or even a rebuild kit for a 24-year old Onan. Unless they are easier to find than a current model Onan carb. Onan carbs are in very short supply and knockoffs on Amazon are known to perform very badly.

Good luck.

Mine is spec P

According to the parts manual its an 'emissions carb' and can't be rebuilt...

Any reason I can't just buy the 'non emissions carb'

Hi Sk8Surfr,
I like the reasoning that DavidM has in these two Posts (from two different Threads):

Pulled - cleaned the carb - it was better.... but still a little surging.

A year ago I had a ground issue with the fuel pump - cleaned it and the pump was running again (maybe not well). I had a spare sitting around - decided to replace it - running perfect now.

Hi Sk8Surfr,
You know, that makes sense. The combination of a slightly less than perfectly clean float bowl couldn't fill fast enough with an inadequate fuel pump. Good to know, and glad you have it running at 100%.
Thanks, Eagle5
