Preventing Kwikee Electric steps from extending

We have a 2012 Winnebago Adventurer with Kwikee electric steps. We want the steps to stay in the retracted position during loading due to a high curb where we have to park. I know that if the steps extend and contact an obstacle the are supposed to stop but we will be going in and out the door frequently. The manual shows electrical connectors that potentially could be disconnected.

Any experience with locking the steps retracted?

My rig is older, but if yours has the in/out switch for the steps it can work for you.
Open the small window on the screen, close the screen so the steps retract, reach in thru the window and switch the switch. Open the door the steps should remain retracted. Make sure the ing. key is off. Any how this is how mine works.

WATCH THAT FIRST STEP when exiting.
