We have just purchased a 2007 Itasca Horizon 40TD and have a Sony color monitor and 3-camera video camera (Model VCB-RV2MH) system. On our previous coach we could adjust (tilt) the camera with a button on the monitor so we could see the tow bar AND vehicles behind it. Is there a way to adjust the rear view angle to see beyond the toad? The monitor does not contain a button but we're hoping there may be an internal adjustment.

If it is the same camera setup as on our coach it has to be done at the camera. Remove the cover over the camera, losen the set screws and move the camera head as desired.

Thanks, lthrnk. We were hoping that would be the case. Always afraid to go where the books tell you not to touch. Have you (or someone else) actually done this?

MM, still Yep, we are loading her up so I can see what we need to buy buy during the post-Christmas sales! We have the Monarch at Sierra College this weekend. We dropped the price significantly and hope to sell it so we don't have to take it to Q. We did get a very low offer last weekend so maybe those folks are doing their homework and will discover what a great rig is available right here in their backyard.

We'll leave for SoCal on Jan. 6-7. Don't know if we'll make the iRV2 "dinner" but will definitely track you folks down.

When I was at 3 Ts in Lake Havasu, they took the cover off my 2005 Horizon AD and enlarged the opening, which allowed the camera to cover a lot more area. Just a thought.

I have an 06 Voyage & I had to also enlarge the cover on the top once I tilted the camera up so I could see beyond the tode. I also made some drain holes in the cover to let dirt & water out.

Why is it that Winnebago's camera is not adjustable from the drivers seat like Monaco?

CoolJudy,

I did it and I'm glad

It really shouldn't be a problem and required no modification to the cover. Only need to move it up about 1/4" or less, dependes on the towing setup.

The Sony Camera has a 100 degree viewing angle, you should be able to get a good of the toad and the road behind it. (Without any mechanised adjustment from the cockpit.)

(Winnebago has used Sony, Voyager, and others in the last few years. The 100 degrees is for the Sony we have. Others could be different.)

According to our Itasca Operator's Manual Supplement, we have a Sony VCB-RV2MH CAMERA with 126-degree horizontal view and an 83-degree vertical view. The MONITOR, however, has a 120 x 95 degree viewing area. I wonder if those differences contribute to our viewing problem. (FYI, the screen size is a 16:9 ratio.)

This is a new coach for us and our first diesel. As we prep for our winter travels to Q and surrounding areas, I'm sure we'll have lots of questions to ask. We hope the karma owners come through with their insights and suggestions.

Judy... sounds like a warranty adjustment from Winnebago to me...
You can do a search where SacsTC MADE his own "camera casing"- a very short time later Monaco had the same design - I would NOT be surprised to find a similar thing with your coach...

I'm sure we'll be adding to our list of questions/issues to ask Winnebago/Itasca. Since the factories all seem to be on reduced work schedules for the holidays and early winter, this can wait. This was the first "minor" question I've thrown out to this forum. There will be more, I'm sure.

Since we have visited almost all the RV factories EXCEPT Winnebago, we might put Iowa on our travel schedule this spring or summer.

It's done. Took it to Village RV for some warranty work and they did the adjustment (for a fee). Thanks for the suggestions.
