Rear lights gremlin in a Freightliner chassis

If my memory is correct some months ago I read about a lighting issue on Freightliner Chassis on this or a related forum… specifically I have a 2019 Forza 34T on a Freightliner XC ? Chassis. Recently I noticed the left rear brake light remaining on while I had the dinghy towed Honda CRV plugged in to the 7 way trailer plug. Disconnecting the plug had no effect until I cycled the ignition switch. Plugging it back in all worked well… for a time!

Am I going nuts or is this a thing? I vaguely remember that the fix was a replacement module for the taillights/trailer plug.
