Roof mounted Winegard No +12 vdc from switch
2016 Sunova with factory roof satellite was not getting any voltage from switch. Was never hooked up and checked out till I bought it so imagine my disappointment when trying to get dish to aim for first time. Discovered that previous Winegard power switches had a lighted rocker when it was on and mine did not. Lighted switches required three wires - +12 vdc [yellow], ground [for the light [white] and another yellow that goes to the dish power input connector on the roof. In my Sunova the switch has no light and only needs +12 vdc and the yellow wire to the roof to work - unfortunately the tech hooked up the white ground wire, the yellow roof wire and left the +12 vdc wire laying unconnected in the behind overhead compartment panels. Found it after much searching and tracing mess of wiring. Disconnected white ground wire [don't use it unless you have a lighted switch] and connected +12 vdc yellow wire and turned it on. Roof antenna started searching after short delay. Hope this helps someone with similar problem. The Chickenman
