Upgraded Magnum Inverter Remote
My 2017 Adventurer 37F came equipped with a lot of electronic goodies. The kind of things one might install after the purchase. Because my RV came with a residential Fridge - which we love - it also came with 4-12 AGM batteries and a Magnum MS-2012 2000 watt Pure sine wave inverter.
However the remote for controlling the inverter was one of Magnum's smallest and least useful remotes. The ME-MR remote. It had a small screen and small display to control the inverter. It worked fine but was lacking a lot of info and control capabilities.
So, I purchased Magnums Advanced Remote - the ME-ARC50 and replaced the ME-MR with the ARC50 today. It was super simple. In fact, the hardest part was cutting the plywood around the old remote for the larger ARC50. Once that was done it was as simple as unplugging in the RJ11 phone jack style connector from the OEM remote and plugging it into the new remote.
The new remote can do many more functions than the old remote - chief among them, allow me to connect a Battery Monitor Kit to the system to truly monitor my batteries, my power usage and state of charge and what my 300 watts of solar is doing each day.
If you have a Winnebago product that has the ME-MR controller I encourage you to do this simple upgrade. The new remote costs about $180 on Amazon.
Here's a photo of the OEM Remote and the new Remote in action.
