WattCycle LiFePO4 Budget Battery

Will Prowse just (10/26/24) gave a positive review to the $155 WattCycle 100Ah LiFePO4 battery on his Youtube site. His review includes a teardown. He was impressed with its performance and construction, including both high and low temperature charging protection:

I like Will's reviews and respect his knowledge, but they don't tell you anything about a battery beyond the basic functionality and construction quality. To build a battery well at that price, the cells have to be really inexpensive, which means they definitely are not Grade A cells. The quality of Grade B or C cells can be all over the map, and durability of the battery is suspect. You may get a good battery or it may die quickly and there's no way to tell from a teardown and limited testing of a single unit. You're also dealing with a company with little presence in the US, so any warranty is likely meaningless. You need to weigh the risks vs. spending more for batteries from an established brand.

A battery like that could work for a small DIY power station at a fraction of the cost of the store bought ones.
