Winnebago Coach Battery Replacement

I have a 2003 Winnebago Sightseer. I need to replace the house battery's. The coach has Interstate SRM-27 600CCA 750MCA 12 volt batteries in it now. I can't find Winnebago's recommendation for the batteries that are supposed to be in the coach. I replaced the batteries about 5 years ago, and Ii don't remember what batteries were in there then. I have a few inches to spare in the battery box. Can anyone help me with the right battery replacement?

Hi,

I would go to a good mechanic that sells interstate batteries. You could also go to an auto parts store that sells Interstate batteries. They are the best for coach batteries.

Go with 2 six volt interstate- you won't be sorry, beats two 12 volt by several reserve amps. I have had 10 yr lives out of my last two sets (& then sold the m/h's). First thing I add when I buy each new to me rig.

Believe the SRM-27 indicates Group 27. I get my batteries at Walmart ...they last as well as any others I have had. In most cases the brand name is not important as they are all made by about two mfgers anyway. When you find a new one, verify it is same size & specs just to be sure.

For clarification. Are you asking about house or chassis batteries?

First of all if you are talking house/coach batteries you want true deep cycle. Interstate has good 6 and 12 volt DEEP cycles. If you had 4 batteries I would recommend 6 volt, but with two the 12 volt will give longer performance between charges. Also if you have the same configuration as my coach interstate has a larger size that will fit, that is the fiscal size and also has abit more amp hours.
Now if you are talking the start battery, again the interstate have good batteries and by year and model can match OEM configuration.
