2008 Itasca Ellipse 40WD

We are thinking about purchasing a 2008 Itasca Ellipse 40WD. It has 13000 miles and 31 hours on the generator. It has the 400hp cummins ISL 8.9L engine. Anybody out there have this unit? Is there anything in particular I should be looking for? Any major problems? It appears to be hardly used and in good condition. Thanks for the help.

I have an '05 Itasca Meridian that I've been happy with. Winnie gives good support. If that gen only has 31 hours it probably has the original oil and filter. Change that right away. The gen needs to be used. Diesels LIKE to work and previous owner didn't do it any favors not using it.

We have the 2008 Tour WD have full timed in it since 2010 love the coach and the handling plus all that basement storage, my pet peeve with Winnebago is the TV set ups it is a real pain to try and get at the HDMI or other outlets on the back of any of the 3 tv's in the coach.

Check for water leaks in slides! Water can bypass slide seals and wick through the ceiling....also check slide lock covers in cabinet for leaks, drains tend to block and thus leak. Drains need to bet kept clean.

We have the Ellipse 40FD with that engine. We bought it new and were full time in it for nearly three years. We love it. No leaks and no major problems.

We have an 08 40fd. One thing you should check is the windshield frame. They are bad about rusting and it cost 1k to fix. Other than that we've enjoyed our. Good unit.

We have the Winnebago version of this coach and have been pretty happy with it. There were a couple of things the dealer could never fix and I had them corrected at the factory. We also had 2 problems with the Cummins engine (cracked pan gasket and machining marks leading to a small oil leak around the fuel pump). Both of these were fixed under warranty.

We like the room inside and the layout. We have had up to 6 sitting around the kitchen table and have slept 6 without any problems.
