I have a problem with my gfci located in entryway attached to the kitchen counter. We were making 2 seperate pots of coffee off of 1 power receptacle in the kitchen area then the power died on that outlet.I checked the gfci at the entryway and it was tripped. I reset and it did reset, and it does have electricity but the little green light does not come on and several other outlets still have no electricity including the one where the coffee pots were plugged in. So i bought a new 15 amp gfci and replaced it. Now it trips immediately. I do not know what to do now. Any help? Thanks
Is it possible that this plug is running from the inverter? I had a problem of over loading one of my plugs and it had tripped the breaker on the inverter and killed the power to a couple of plugs. Just a thought.

Grtharris, there were 2 black wires and 2 white wires and 1 ground. I hooked ground up, the 2 blacks on the same side and 2 whites on the same side. Does it matter which side?
The white wires should connect to the silver screws on one side of the outlet and the black wires to the brass screws on the other. The ground should go to the green screw.
motohomo, attached is a picture of the back of a GFI note the writing on the back. Line from the breaker and load to the other recepts. If that is all good check for a grounded neutral. Unplug the microwave it is on that same circuit.
