2013 Winnebago Vista 27N - Dish TV hookup

We have a 2013 Winnebago Vista 27N with a Road Trip satellite dome installed on the roof. We just got the Dish Receiver and we are trying to get it connected. In the overhead we have two sets of rca plugs a red, green and blue and a yellow, red and white, which, I assume connect to the back of the receiver. (factory installed)

Does anyone know if these rca plug cables run direct to the front tv or, do they go through the Jensen DVD system in the dash? My options on the tv for input sources are TV, 4 HDMI connections, one RGB, and one A/V Component.

I connected the receiver to the rca jacks, powered it up, but I don't get a signal on any of the tv inputs. When I got home tonight, I thought maybe the satellite receiver might go through an Aux output in the Jensen Radio/DVD system?

Thanks for all information!

I went through the same process of trying to understand how everything is hooked up when setting up my 2015 Vista 30T for Dish Network. I found the Winnebago drawings to be very useful. Here's the link for your 2013 27N:

TheBeach, There "should" be a HDMI cable coiled in the satellite prep area.
Do you have the optional front TV and/or the external TV?
Also do you have the DVD player in the dash?

I'll check again in the overhead. I didn't see an HDMI cable up there, but maybe it's in there. That would make sense, if it's there. I'm pretty sure the main TV has an HDMI cord plugged into the back.

We have a TV in the lounge area on the wall to the rear of the dinette, another TV in the bedroom, the outdoor entertainment with a third TV and DVD/Radio, and, yes, we have the Jensen Radio/DVD and speaker control unit mounted in the dashboard.

TheBeach, Attached is the drawing for your TV System. The drawing shows one set of RCA connectors going to the external TV and HDMI going to the main TV. But whats on the drawing and whats in the coach can be different.

Well we have opened up all of the overhead bin backs and we find no HDMI cord. There is a splitter for the routed coax cables and a box for routing RCA plug wires (probably speakers?) and, of course, the cables for the Road Trip satellite dome.

The flat screen (46 in.) mounted on the wall near the dinette is flush to the wall so I can't get at the back to see what might wired to the tv inputs.

Can someone tell me how to remove the tv from that bracket?

Maybe this coach is set up with the main tv wired with the yellow, red and white rca jacks that are up in the overhead bin with the satellite plate?

I called the dealer and even though they installed the Road Trip, they don't have any idea how the satellite receiver to main tv connection was made.

We are the second owners. The original owner bought the coach new, had the satellite dome installed and then traded the coach in for something bigger after about 6 months. Then, we bought it in April of 2014.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

TheBeach Here is a picture of the back. Looks like the mount slips down into bracket and the mount has a roll of screws across the top just behind the TV. Remove the screws at top and left up.
You should be able to see the cables from the right side of the TV.

Resolved

I've got it all working, now.

As it turns out, there is no HDMI cable running from the main tv to the overhead bin. There are 6 RCA jacks up in the ovrhd bin, 3 for component and 3 for A/V.

I bought an HDMI to RGB/Component converter box after I discovered that the RCA jacks in the ovrhd run to the main tv and the exterior tv. So, I have connected my DISH satellite receiver to the converter box with an HDMI cord, connected the Road Trip to the Dish receiver with the coax at the satellite panel in the ovrhd and then connected the RGB jacks to the output of the converter box and it all works perfectly!

I have no idea if this is the way the wiring came from the factory, or, if the previous owner wired it this way, or, even if the dealer who installed the Winegard Road Trip wired it up this way, so this may not help anyone else out there.

Thanks so very much for the information!

TheBeach My curiosity is giving me fits how does the DVD signal from the Jensen Radio/DVD system get to the main TV? There is only one component/composite video input on the TV.

I don't know.

I did see a couple of switch boxes up in back of the overhead bins, but I was too focused on my HDMI cord hunt to pay much attention.

Maybe it goes through the antenna connection to the TV?

All magic to me!!

TheBeach I have requested same installation drawings from my friend at Winnebago to see what it shows. Would you mind sending me the last 5 digits of your Winnebago serial number? I would like to see what materials where use on your coach buile.

TheBeach, OK looked at your service parts list. No HDMI cables installed but I did notice a VGA MALE TO RGB MALE CABLE, so I assume either the DVD player or the Satellite cable is plugged in the VGA port on the back of the TV. The attached picture is the way they do it on the Vista 30T. Which input do you select for the Satellite input?
