Alco007, I was watching a new video on YouTube by a RV DIY repair guy today. It's a different RV completely, but it has a trim piece at the beltline above the basement compartments.
The video shows "Tito" replacing a dented lower compartment door that is underneath his full wall slide. As he was putting the door on he shows that the trim piece pops up and under it was access to the hinges of the swing UP compartment door. Without the door in place as he was replacing it, I could see the Ram under his slide.
Now, it's a different year (2002), and a different RV (Adventurer not Forza) but it gave me an idea of what you were asking. This may not apply to you at all, but I figured you might watch a minute of it and gain some insight. If not, sorry it wasn't a help.
