That problem is not restricted to braves - it's pretty universal. The most popular fix is 2 or 3 turns of black electrical tape around the door latch post (or whatever that fixed post that sticks out of the door frame is called). As I remember, Winnie came out a rather expensive teflon coated post as a fix, but others tried it and reported that the teflon wore off and the rattle came back. Electrical tape is cheaper and easy to replace - worked for me!
it felt like my door was raddling but on mine it was the plastic fender under the door...acted up around 60mph I had to get some new double sided tape and tape the fender to the l clip behind it...drove my crazy for a while thought it was the front end then my door then my storage caompartments...

Currently heading home from a trip to DC. Before leaving on this trip I rapped the latch post with a few turns of electrical tape. Been 900 miles so far with no rattles at all. The previous 29000+ miles I almost always had a rattle. I few times, if you closed the door just right, it would not rattle as bad, but it always rattled a little.
I too experienced the famous door rattle. And yes I used the black tape fix. The tape did not fully eliminate the noise.
What I found to be the root cause was the dead bolt latch. With it engaged there was a rattle. Now I do not engage the dead bolt while traveling...no rattle!
