engine access winnebago 2007 tour td

Reading the manual and everything else I have found access in closet to the A/C compressor and fan belt. I have yet to figure out how to access the top of the engine. Winnebago states remove step but looks like one has to dissassemble the bed structure. It appears after looking at another model in a RV sale lot that it would work but on the TD model it is different. I just would like to look it over after 20,000 miles.
Thanking anyone with the knowledge.

On my 2006 Journey, there is a metal cover over the engine that is under the bed. My bed is hinged so that it can be lifted. I added hydraulic lifts (like basement doors) to hold the bed up. I also switched to a sleep number bed which is much lighter than the mattress that came with the coach.

Once the metal cover was removed, you could gain access to the top of the engine. The Freightliner dealer adjusted valve lash by going down through that access.

Hope this helps.

The first is in the Wardrobe. The second is the top step in front of the wardrobe. The third is under the bed.

I hope they help.

Thank you for the pix's and the suggestion but your closet acess is similiar however the other 2 access point are not anything like the TD Tour. I will figure it out if I have to tear it all apart during the winter in AZ

gnrendfeld,
Just call Winnebago and they will send you a copy that shows the locations. I had a copy but traded the motor home so I don't think I still have it. It explained how much of the floor you had to remove. The hardest part is finding the screws.

No disassemble of bed, just lift it. The whole bed will raise. I slide the mattress a little to the foot of the bed and then raise, with some help, and then while I hold it up, my wife places a 2x4 5' long for support. The step can be removed. I forgot about the screws as I have left them out and seems no problem. There will be one metal cover over the engine. I don't have my computer and we are heading south tomorrow before the snow gets any deeper.
