On the way home from for months on the road. Put the full wall slide in on our Journey 40R. Hit the slide lock button and it didn't make its usual resounding clunk signaling that is was locked. Instead all I heard was a whirring noise. Decided to redeploy the slide and try again. Slide was not operable.
Will driving to next stop home I called Winnie customer service and explained the issue. Couldn't hear very well so I can't give the representative credit. He explained that the slide lock motors will sometimes "skip" 1/16 of an inch or so. This doesn't allow the switch to send 12V to the slide mechanism. So, it thinks it is locked. He said this is not an uncommon occurrence.
He said to hold down the unlock button for ten seconds. At the next fuel stop, I did what he said. Sure enough after a few seconds the familiar clunk signaled the slide was unlocked. Hit the lock button and everything was
.
Thank again Winnie for your great customer service. You save my bacon again.
