Living Room Sofa Mattress

Hi,

We currently own a 2008 Itasca Ellipse 40FD. We love our coach, but the sofa in the living room is very uncomfortable for our guests (usually my elderly parents). We are thinking of upgrading to a newer (2012ish) Tour or Ellipse 42QD. If you have one of these, would you please let us know if your living room sofabed includes an air mattress? We've looked at a few newer motorhomes from Tiffin and Thor, which include these, but they're out of our price range for now. If any of you have bought an aftermarket air mattress of this type (thin, to go on top of the sofa cushions when pulled out), please let us know where you got it, as I haven't been able to find one.

Thanks,
Ariel & Michelle

You're looking for something like this? We have seen them on sofa beds at the local (to Florida) Kane's furniture stores. We almost got one for our house but decided on a Murphy bed instead. https://www.amazon.com/AirDream-Hypo...70_&dpSrc=srch

Thanks for your reply. The mattress you mentioned would be too tall, as we want to lay it over the motorhome Rest Easy sofabed. What we’ really looking for is the top half of what is shown (just the air mattress without the springs). Thanks again!

Even though our Adventurer had a "sleep number" bed, it still was not as comfortable as we wanted. We added the 3" memory foam topper from Costco and it is like sleeping on a cloud. You'll probably get one for the house too, like we did. Highly recommended. You can cut it to shape, if needed. About $100. A lot cheaper and easier than a new coach! Only problem would be where to roll it up and put it when done.

Edit:
Amazon has a 2" Queen for $69.99. Looks the same as the Costco 3" material. Worth a try!
