Memorex DVD Theater System in 2007 Voyage

We just purchased a 2007 Voyage 35a. It came with a Memorex DVD Theater System that is not turning on. I plugged another item into the outlet to check the outlet and it worked, so I know there is power to it. Is there a trick I am missing or could it just work? The previous owners didn't say anything about it not working other than they didn't like the surround sound while watching TV, so they unlplugged it from the TV. We haven't tackled taking the TV out of it's spot, but didn't think that should matter on the theater system not turning on.

Sounds like you have made a good start on looking at the problem but I might check a couple things. One is that you did plug the test item into the same point on the outlet as the player, not the other outlet on a dual receptacle? Just that there are times when the link between the two is broken or cut so that one outlet is live and the other dead. Just looking for the easy way out!
But then if the player is plugged into live power and you get no light or action, I might have to call it dead. Any output cables or wiring would not be expected to change anything, so I might look at pulling it out and doing a quick look inside for something like a blown fuse, etc. which one "might" be lucky enough to spot. But I also will say that my experience with the newer electronics is not good on repairs as we are more into throwing things away.
Possible a hard driving, go getter might find a manual online for the player but considering how low cost a replacement, I'm not sure I would fight it too long.
I currently have a four year old 47 inch TV which has a minor LED problem but the time to take the thing apart costs more in labor than a new 50 inch "smart" TV!

You have the OEM home theater. Same as the OEM in our rig. Quit working soon after PO gave us the keys. We fiddled with it a while then bought a Sony DAV-TZ140

https://www.amazon.com/Sony-DAVTZ140...s%2C223&sr=8-1

Gave the un-needed speakers to some kid at church. He seemed happy. Unit is now about 8 years old, working fine. As Morich alludes, electronical devices are just not conducive to us old shade trees fixing them.

Whatever model you get, just make sure its a 5.1 to give you your surround sound and the "audio in" is compatible with the "audio out" on your TV (i.e., HDMI or RCA).

Side note: We are with your PO regarding TV and surround sound. Drives us crazy. Like it with music, though.

Mis-spoke. Optical or RCA audio out/in.
