Meridian/ Journey 42E Retractable Bed
When trying to retract my bed, it will come up about 1" and stop. When I apply a bit of manual lift at the head, it will continue to the up position. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what is the solution?
I've called both Winni Cust Svc and Lippert. they have been no help at all!!

Had same problem with ours. Never was able to be fixed so our solution was the same as yours-until we traded it off. Too small of a motor is my guess.

I have the same bed in my 2012 Journey 42E
The bed is getting slower to retract, but goes all the way up
Is this a symptom?

I'm picking up a can of CRC today. Even tho the factory folks say not to use lube, I'm going to. It might just work

Did it have a more powerful motor than the original?

No, ours would not go sometimes, then it would, and it would not stop at correct place, you would have to manually stop it. Then it broke a tooth on the gear, and that is why they had to replace.

No, I think it was the same, it did not seem any different and looking at it looks the same.

I just had the motor replaced. It looks like the original---$477. It worked fine at the shop. Went back to the Park----extended just fine. the next morning the head lifted about a inch, just like before, and stopped. Had to lift it past that point manually and then it lifted. Just like before!
So I called customer service and the tech walked us thru the procedure to calibrate the control and it worked just fine after that, until today. After less than a dozen cycles, it's right back to the same thing. All that money down the tube and still the same old stuff! My disgust factor is thru the roof right now so I'm going to wait and call Lippert tomorrow.

I had a mobile tech stop by yesterday. He said it seems like the bed is going down too far and suggested attaching a 2x2 to the bottom of the bed platform to keep it from that dead spot.
Any thoughts on that?
