Mods to 2016 Sightseer 33C

Hi. I have been making mods to our new Sightseer.

I have added a back splash to the kitchen sink. Our 2005 Sightseer 29R had a back splash and my wife wanted one in our new rig.

I changed the fixed shelves on the bottom of the pantry to pull out trays. I don't understand why Winnebago put pull out trays on the top of the pantry and fixed shelves on the bottom. It was difficult for me, and my wife, to reach items in the lower pantry.

I missed the clock that was over the door in our 29R.

See pictures here.

Very nice, my wife wants the same back splash as what you have done but I have not gotten around to it, now I guess I should. What is the glass material made of that you used? The pull out shelves are another nice feature. I missed the clock we had in our last coach and put one on the wall facing the front so we can look in the door and see the time as well as turn around when in front seats and see the time. There are lots of fun projects that can be done to coaches.

Very good! It's a lot of fun tweaking these things to suit our tastes.

Hey JD
Nice mods.
One suggestion for the slide-outs, Rockler Hardware sells some small plastic drawer edge protectors that prevent the drawer glide from digging into the door in case it isn't opened far enough when the drawer is pulled out. I added them to mine and they save a few scratches on the inside.

You are so right. What you can't see in the photo is the corner protectors on the top two trays. Rocklers only had two sets in their store. I ordered the rest and I put them on the day after I took the pictures.

I cut a cardboard template and took it to a local glass shop. We picked a pattern we liked and had them cut a piece of glass. Because it is in a vehicle they suggested tempered glass. JD

Thanks Yellowboat, here is what I did with the glass you sent my way. Turned out pretty good and the wife is very happy with it, thanks again.

I bought the wood and I built the drawers. I had a local paint Store match the stain in our 2005 Sightseer and it is a very good match for our 2016.

Dan S, I could use some of those protectors for my drawer tracks, but can't get the search at Rockler to come up with anything. Some help finding what you used would be appreciated.
Thanks, Alan

Try searching on Rocklers.com for Pullout Shelf Corner Guards or item 50660.

Safe travels. JD
