Rear camera wiring

On my Intent 26m the rear camera has been a problem from the start, more specifically the circuit board has been a problem. I have already had the board replaced under warranty but now any replacement would be out of the warranty period. The camera works after startup until a bump is hit and then the screen will go blank, I can hit the blinker and the rear camera will come back until the next bump.
My thoughts on a solution is to rewire the system so the rear camera goes directly to the head unit and bypasses the circuit board. Has anyone done this? I do realize I will lose the side view cameras but honestly I hardly ever use them, the mirrors do a nice job of showing what is on the sides.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Tom

You can purchase a wireless rear view camera starting at about $100. May be a better solution than trying to run new wiring.

That really sounds like it could be an issue with the junction box behind your monitor.

There's a junction box that combines the 3 cameras with the turn and reverse sensors to feed the monitor.

I do not know what monitor you have in an Intent nor how it's installed. On my Adventurer the monitors are remotely wired to an Xite Core Unit in an upper cabinet. Behind the Core Unit is a small silver metal box with inputs for each camera and an output to the Core Unit.

This is simply a guess, but it may not be the camera at all that's causing the issue. Perhaps it's just bad connections at the junction box or a bad junction box itself. It can even one of the sensors for turn signals and reverse.

Rereading your post I'm wondering if the circuit board you are talking about is part of the junction box - I assumed (I know, I know) that you were speaking about the camera itself.

Here's a suggestion - take your RV to a large car stereo / car electronics store for them to sort it out. This is right up their alley. You are near Tallahassee and there are a couple of them around there.

Auto Audiophiles
Audio Addictions
Debo Pro Sounds & Stereo

And more. All near you.
