Remote keypad 2005 Vectra

Does anyone know if there is a replacement for the remote keypad on a 2005 Winnebago Vectra 40 AD

Here's another posting that may help (on John Canfield's website): Replacing the entry door keypad

Note that to remove the old keypad you need to slide off the two half-round covers on either end, exposing the mounting screws.

Thank you for the information. I have some troubleshooting to do. Mine seems to be completely unpowered. The key fobs work fine so far. Wondering if they will still work after doing a retrofit like the one pictured.

My coach is a sister to yours. My key pad quits working about every 2 years. I remove the keypad and unplug the connection behind it. I use a spray electronic parts cleaner on both ends of the plug. Put dielectric grease on the connections, reinstall it, and it has always worked for a couple of years again.

Try that before you discard it. You don't have much to loose if that does not help. Good luck and let us know if this works for you.

Thanks Don. I have not dove into it much yet. Fixing a lot of things on the coach. I will post later what I found. Another issue I have is finding something to replace all the gold trim. Hard on the eyes.

Mine has also failed. Winnebago advised that the unit is not repairable and they have discontinued the unit so replacement is available. Interested to hear if taking it apart etc helps.

Mine is powered up and will lock the compartments, but wont lock door or unlock door. And my remotes don't work. Any ideas?

Mine do that once in a while. I take a cotton ball soaked in alcohol or an alcohol pad and clean the 2 contacts on both the door and door post and it works ok again for awhile. Hope this trick works for you.

I have likely the same keypad and keyless system. The manufacturer went out of business around 2010+- and there is no support from them or any motorhome maker, i.e. Winnebago. A couple years ago I read about a replacement but it requires a wiring pigtail from Winnebago but at this time, can't find that info.

I have 2 remotes with mine that work and the lock feature of the keypad works, BUT I don't have the code that the previous owner used. Unfortunately unlike a Ford keypad, once the factory code is replaced with a user one, this system doesn't have a second stored code to fall back on. I have tried various suggested methods and default codes but nothing will activate the keypad or allow me to put my own code in.

For the record I tried zip codes for the area that I think the PO lived but the CW won't give me the contact info of the PO. It would be nice to have it work but I don't want to spend big $$$ replacing a working remote system just to have a keypad.

Does anyone know the location of the remote receiver so i can check for power? I have changed the batteries in the remotes but they still do nothing when the button are pressed.

It should be in the left front outside compartment. You'll need to remove a number of screws so that you can hinge open the electrical compartment inside there.
