I am wondering if your switch is malfunctioning and hung resulting in it being shorted to the "on" position. If not, it sure sounds like a control board or solenoid failure. Its hard to tell not knowing the type of slide system (i.e. Digisync ram, Powergear slim rack, or Schwinteck). It could be in other areas of the system. It would also be helpful to know how the switches on the panel are set up, such as is there a master key and are the switches rocker or push panel?
Sorry not much help but hopefully someone else can weigh in and offer some troubleshooting tips or how they responded to a similar experience. Slides can be difficult at times and repairing them may require some expertise. Also there is lot of info available on the Lippert/Powergear web site, assuming that's the manufacturer of the system you have.. It sort of depends on how comfortable you are in trying to fix this yourself.
