TV Upgrade 2016 Vista 27N

Hello forum

Looking for advice or previous experience on upgrading the current TV in our Vista LX 27N. The current TV is an Insignia 48", a Best Buy brand made by Hisense. Ideally I would like to swap it out for a new 4K model of the same size. I noticed Winnebago cuts out the wall to specifically accommodate the protrusion on the back of this Insignia TV. New TVs are less in depth by about an inch. Any comments appreciated.

The previous owner upgraded our 2014 27n with a 50 inch Samsung Smart tv. We love it, unfortunately I don't know how it was installed. It is a Samsung 6 series. The picture is really vivid. Good luck.

Remove the old TV and mount. fill the cavity with spray foam, and cover with a correctly sized aluminum plate larger than the hole while the foam is wet. Mount an articulating TV mount to the plate. Mount the tv....

I did similar with the stock 32" vizio in my sunstar, Removed the tv and the custom Winnebago mount. Glued the plate to the wall with Gorilla glue ans a bunch of self drilling screws. Added an articulating mount from Harbor Freight (oversized for the 32' lg TV I added.). All is groovy....

A couple of thoughts. I replaced the three stock WBGO POC TV's with supposedly better units from VIZIO. They do have a better picture but it was a mistake! Avoid VIZIO if you value being able to watch Over The Air TV or Cable (Campground) TV. VIZIO has implemented software that takes over easy channel search so that they can push ads. It REQUIRES a network connection to function smoothly, so if you don't have one, you're toast. You can search on Reddit for the many complaints about this. As it is, I've DUMBED the TV's (no internet connection) so that I can get OTA and cable TV when needed. If I want to stream FHD content (it's football season!), I plug my phone into the TV with an HDMI connector.

Second, I'm curious about why you'd want to upgrade to a 4k TV. Will you have access to 4K content? You'll need a download speed of around 50 Mbps to reliably watch 4K streams. FWIW, streaming a standard-definition (SD) show, you need a minimum of 3–10 Mbps. For HD videos in general, 10–18 Mbps is adequate for most streaming purposes. To stream in Ultra HD Video, you'll need 18–25 Mbps.

All done.... hung a 50" Hisense A68H... took some re-engineering and fabrication of the original mounting plate but successful... great TV, I have a Hisense 70u78k in the house. If you do research the Hisense lines beat Sony LG Samsung in pricing and features for the money.

I have 2 Hisense TVs... a 75U7 in the house and now a 50A6 in the Vista... beautiful TVs.

Secondly ...don't necessarily need the 4K however the "smart" features (Netflix Tube Youtube etc) are what the original Insignia did not have. Of course one needs a good Wifi connection which is why we travel with Starlink Roam...
