We just got back from a 2900 mile trip visiting Oregon and Washington. We went through Nicolaus, CA; Bend, OR; Cresent Bar, WA; Leavenworth, WA; La Conner, WA; Long Beach; WA; Medford, OR; Hollister, CA; then home. We drove through very beautiful country using freeways, state highways, county roads, and paved backroads, hills, valleys, mountain passes. This was our second major trip with the Sightseer. The first trip was summer 2006 to Yellowstone, WY, Idaho, the Oregon Coast, then home. On both occasion, our MH performed as expected, delivering top performance on the road and at the CG. We used a total of 361 gallons of gasoline, amounting to $1029.26. We nomally travel between 55 to 60 mph on the freeway, lesser speeds on other roads. Just a relaxing drive. We also used the genset for 30 hours during our latest trip to run the rooftop A/Cs and the ref. Based on the numbers, we average 8 mpg, $2,85/gal, and $0.36/mi (this amounts to $0.06/mile/person - we are 6 in the family). At 60 mph, the engine purrs at 2300 rpm. Going up mountain passes, the transmission downshifts and the engine turns at 2600 rpm maintaining 40 mph. When I manually shifted to 3rd, the rpm increased to about 2800 and sped up to 45 mph. We didn't raced up the hill, after all we were on vacation.
Relax, drive safely, and enjoy God's creations.

I'm glad you had a pleasant and safe trip. We also love our little Sightseer 26P. There are only the two of us, so we find we have all the room we need. Besides numerous short trips, last year we did an 8,000 mile, 6 week loop from California, through Yellowstone to Wisconsin, then back through TN, KY, OK etc to CA with not a single problem. On Monday we are leaving for 6 weeks to Glacier NP through Oregon, WA, then south to Idaho Falls and then to Arches NP in Utah and back home. Wish us luck! We usually average about 8.5 mpg towing our Jeep Wrangler.

Another satisfied Sightseer owner here. Only one problem in four years an that was a Norcold issue. Took two trips to the dealer but finally resolved.

Don't know where Mis3s originated from but glad you experienced our terrific Pacific Northwest. We love having others see this wonderful part of our United States, especially "our" area west of the Cascade Mountain Range. We call this west side of the Cascades the WETside of the two states, Oregon and Washington.
I have to add my kudos for the Sightseer. This is our fifth RV and it is certainly the BEST! We've had 2 Class C's: 27' 1992 Fleetwood Jamboree (only one we bought used) and, for a short time, a 1999 32' Four Winds Chateau; a 2001 Class A 34' Fleetwood Expedition (loved it but it was so long when towing our Jeep Wrangler); a "lemon" 2006 Doubletree Mobile Suites fifth wheel for a short time (too many problems and way too long and heavy to tow); and now the 2006 29' Sightseer. [We love the class A's.] Of all of our RV's, we are enjoying the shorter, problem-free (except for a minor water connection leak) Winnebago Sightseer. We don't tow anymore since the 29' Sightseer will get us anywhere we need to go--saves on the tires expense for the Jeep, too, by not towing it. "It's the best" is our attitude about our Sightseer...it only took us FIVE RV's to find the RIGHT one!

ejlcom, our home is in Azusa, CA (12 miles east of Pasadena). We're glad to here other Sightseer owners are satisfied with their MHs.
Relax, drive safely, and enjoy God's creations.

I hope you went through Nicolaus 'cause you know someone there, not because you were lost!
Whenever we plan a trip into Washington, my wife insists on stopping in Leavenworth, which means adding at least 2 days to any trip, and lots of $$$.
I'm glad you and your family are enjoying your motorhome and exploring God's beautiful creation.
