putting in fresh water into Era 70x
hi, have a 2017 Era 70x... i know how to put fresh water into the 30gal from a hose, check pressure to <50 psi with regulator etc. but is there a way to put water into the system from a ...say 5 gallon jugs of water storage cans ? i'm going to be boondocking for a week in the desert and will be bringing extra water but i don't know how /where to put the water into the coach without a pressurized source..... is there a way to gravity fill the fresh water tank ? or so i need to buy a pump that has to be used to fill it through the usual filler ?
thanks for your answers....

Look for "gravity fill door" in section 7 Plumbing of the Owner's Manual.

Uh.. on my 2017 era 70x, I can't seem to find this "gravity fill port near the sliding door entrance " ... if i don't have one, what kinda pressure do i need to drive water into the tank ? Was thinking of using one of those drill driven pump with hoses attached to both ends....

Suction tube to pull RV antifreeze into the lines when winterizing, if you go that route.
Personally, I've never used RVAF, just drained everything tanks/lines, ran the water pump for a few minutes to blow out the lines some more, and that's it. Done. Never had a problem, and I live in Canada.

James, do you have an Operator’s Manual for your Era? I think you’ll find most answers to your questions in that manual.
In section 7, the Plumbing section, you’ll find a photo of the Gravity fill that should take all the guess work of finding it.
As for what kind of pressure? The kind that comes out of a hose is all you need. Just put the end of the hose in the opening and turn on the water.
Here’s a link to a PDF of your Operator’s Manual:
https://www.winnebago.com/Admin/Publ...2016/16Era.pdf
And here’s the photo in your gravity fill:

There are two versions of your Era 70X, the link above is for model made early in the model year and here’s a link for models made later in the model year:
https://www.winnebago.com/Admin/Publ...2017/17Era.pdf
How can you tell which you have?
This second link is for
Operator Manuals (7th Character in Serial Number is 2)
Example: 12345W 289012
(That first link I provided in the other post is for serial numbers with the 7th Character in Serial Number is 1)

Found it but more Qs
Lol..damn thing was covered by black buttoned leatherette....
Any way, do I leave the lever on "normal" to fill it AND what is that inlet/outlet on lower right side that is not capped ? Is that a vent or some over flow tube ??
Please advise....

The winterizing selector has absolutely nothing to do with the gravity water fill. You use the gravity water fill to put water into your fresh water tank. Period.
If you were at some point in time winterizing your freshwater system that’s when you would utilize that winterization control. Otherwise you always leave it at Normal.
They just happen to have located the two things on the same panel.
I think the other threaded portal is for attaching that RV Anti-Freeze siphon hose that you attached a photo of above when you are winterizing the Coach. But since you don’t live where it freezes routinely you likely won’t be using any of that.
