Travato 2024, Is this an error in A/C installation?

I'm up on the roof mounting an antenna and looking for a good ground to connect to the body of the RV (a different story). I found leaves in the AC unit and took the cover off to vacuum the leaves. Found foam that "sticks out" the side of the cover and then got suspicious the foam is not mounted properly. Looks like the foam should have been centered on the unit. there's a "gap" on the far side in the picture as much as the foam sticks out. Should this be fixed? Will this be a path for animals/bugs into the coach? Air leakage?
