Travato Awning Out In The Rain?

Hi all. Posting for a friend who recently purchased a 2021Travato. The electric awning on the unit has no down arms per se. Only an accordian style arm mechanism that deploys with the awning. On a recent trip we encountered an evening rain, and they were hesitant to leave the awning open in the rain.
I know these awnings have wind sensors and that they have been subject to recall. That has been done. But. Can you leave these awnings open when it rains? Wind notwithstanding. My only experience is with conventional awnings with down arms to the side of the motorhome/trailer
Thank You. George

Does it have adjustments on each end to let them tilt it enough to let water run sideways and off, to keep it from pooling on top?
I would think it normal to do that and only bring it in if the wind gets too strong?

Not that I know of. You can adjust the overall down angle some to clear the side door but I don't think you can pitch it. Need a Travato owner to chime in. Thanks. George

I may have found my own solution from Carefree of Colorado
https://carefreeofcolorado.com/produ...ing-stabilizr/
It's a support pole set made for armless awnings.

Howdy,

Our Travato 59K awning has a natural slope and as you extend, it slopes even further. We usually only extend a few feet during a rainstorm anyway. Just to create a bit of a porch for entering the vehicle OR just enough room for chairs and us to enjoy the rain -- assuming the wind is coming from the driver's side of the vehicle.

We've never had the auto-retract mechanism kick in during a stronger gust-- so not even sure if it works. Too many years of RVing with manual awnings and having an awning shred itself on RV #1 almost 15 years ago. We retract when winds kick up and do not extend if too windy.
