2014 Navion iQ View Range Fan Flapper

Our 2014 Navion iQ 24V range hood fan is vented outside. We just got back from south Florida and the flap that covers that fan on the outside of the RV flapped and rattled and made noises while we were on the road as it was very windy! So I would love to know if anybody has figured out a way to stop the flapping flap without messing up its function of removing kitchen fumes to the outside. It makes noise when we are underway and when there is a cross wind.

I have posted questions several times and gotten great help. However, I still cannot figure out what should be asked/posted and where and how to search to find out if the question has already been asked. So if this issue has been addressed/resolved, my apologies to all.

Thanks

We fixed ours (closed) with some black Gorilla tape.

The flap opens and closes due to changes in pressure inside and outside of the RV. Crows are Masters of the Obvious! Being born MacGuyvers and married to the daughter of a Navy Chief....she came up with a clever solution.

You take a Swifter duster refill and carefully push it into the vent opening with the handle. Put it in and leave it. Easy to put in and easy to snag out with the duster's handle when you need to use the range vent.

We carry a roll of blue painters tape. Before we take off I use a strip of tape to silence the vent while traveling. It’s easy on and off.
