Bought this view used, about 19000 miles on it. Took it out for 3 days in branson. Ran the heat pump for a couple of nites, and it seems awfully loud. Ac is also loud. Is this normal? Also ran gas furnace for a couple of nights used a 1/4 tank of propane! We had a propane leak when we first bought it. Is this normal. Thermostat set at 68, outside temp at 45 degrees. Just curios.
We have 2016 24J and the noise level of the heat pump/ac is quite loud. We purchased a very small electric heater (like most everyone) and it does a very good job of keeping the RV warn in colder/cooler climates.
I purchased, and installed, a Hush Kit from here: Mach 8 hush kits for the ac on the roof. It is still noisy on high, but improved on low.
The rooftop A/C / heat pump only seems loud in such a small space. Make sure all of the ceiling vents are open. Our A/C unit is actually quieter than a similar unit on our Tiffin Phaeton. It's all in your perception of the noise. If you think it is noisy, then it will be.
The furnace should keep you quite tosty at an outside temp of 45 degrees. The propane gauge is notoriously inaccurate so don't pay too much attention to that. No, propane leaks are not normal in any model.

On our 24J 1/3 of propane used is 4 gals of the 11 the tank holds. If you are boondocking lp for hot water, cooking, heat and generator can add up. We did a week and never plugged in and used 1/2 lp. The solar took care of the batteries but we had to run the gen/ac a few times for the dogs.
We have a 2008 29R with heat pump. Yes, it is loud as it is essentially reversing the process of the AC. It is also very inefficient and may even 'lock up' or fail to run below 45 degrees. Get a small 1500W ceramic heater (when you have shore power) and you'll be toasty all night even in near freezing temps. Keep your furnace at 60 degrees; a bit colder than you may like, but much cheaper than refilling your propane every few days.
