2020 View 24V Boost Switch?
Does anyone know if the 2020 View has a battery boost switch that would let me start the main engine from the house battery.
The manual says there is one, but doesn't say where it is.

Page 10-3 in the downloadable OM. It's on the dash.
Not where I would expect to find that info.

If it's on the dash, it's well-hidden.

For 2020 they removed that function completely. Not sure why Winn did that.

Thank you. I can stop looking for it now
Weird that they removed it. It did seem like a useful feature.
I should probably buy a pair of jumper cables anyway so I could use those to start from the house battery if I ever need to.

Sorry about the misleading info but it was mentioned in the OM. I always carry booster cables that are long enough to self boost from coach to chassis battery locations. JIC.

I found two places where it's mentioned in the manual and three people at the RV dealership I bought it from told me there is one. It was driving me a little crazy looking for it.

Everyone told me the same. I had to call Winnebago and they said not for the 2020 View. They removed the boost button and the sewer hose storage for 2020. Not sure if any other features were removed.
Odd for sure.

You can install a Trik L Start (or Amp L Start for house lithium batteries) to charge the engine battery from the house batteries/solar.
For our 2021 View, we had the Amp L Start installed by Lichtsinn before we picked up the RV.

Amp-L-Start
I have a 2020 Navion and installed the Amp-L-Start in about 30 minutes to resolve the lack of a booster on the newer models, choosing the Amp-L over the Trk-L because of the option to adjust start and stop charging if LiFePO4 batteries are installed (I have LiFePO4 aftermarket house batteries). It’s a fairly straight forward install and not too complicated. Another option is to carry a portable battery booster.

Chassis battery can be charged through lighter outlet middle console near bottom. I use a Harbor Freight HF Charger set for AGM.

Great reason to go to Lichtsinn for they have a very long walk through. I went with a write up from another dealer and my sales rep chuckled showing me a few items thats not included in the 2020 View. Unable to turn the backup camera on or outside speakers.
someone wrote up the difference of a 2019 Vs 2020. there were a couple items that were on a 2019 but I'll find it and post it for you. I found it interesting.

With the newer coaches now charging the engine battery with the converter perhaps they felt is was no longer needed. Most often you only needed it when you forgot to switch the radio power button from engine to house and ran the start battery down however now with the converter taking care of that for you its a bit of a moot feature too unless you dry camping and run all the batteries flat but then a boost switch would not help then either.
I also am not sure how that works with how they implemented the lithium house battery option they added so there could have been some concerns there about linking the two systems together with the boost switch and giving the engines high amperage lead acid charging system a direct connection to the Lithium batteries.

The new Views do not charge the engine battery from the converter or any other method.
Not sure why the lithium battery would matter on a boost switch.

Only on the stock batteries for it's not recommended if one upgraded to the lithium batteries.

Lichtsinn installed an Amp-L-Start in our 21D to keep to keep the engine battery charged from the coach's lithium batteries.
While in storage, we have the coach connected to 110, keeping the lithium batteries charged.

When on boost once the engine starts if you don't release the boost button fast enough or if the relay sticks and does not release your engine alternator could be bypassing the smart charger required for the safe charging of Lithium batteries and potentially start pumping a 14+ volt 100+ amp charge at them which can cause sprites in the Lithium cells leading to a thermal runaway situation. Lithium thermal runaway is very hard to stop even if you totally submerge the batteries in water with some manufacturers recommending that you just move the vehicle/batteries/device away from structures and other vehicles and let them burn themselves out rather than trying to fight the fire. Yes a more sophisticated system could be designed and installed in the boost circuit to prevent that however that would add additional cost to the system.
Some people who had coaches manufactured before they made it the more standard practice to link the converter to also charge the engine battery (2005 or was it 2015?) would tape or otherwise setup something to hold the boost switch down before going to bed so that the converter could top off the engine battery charge by the time they left the next morning.
Sorry to hear the new View does not adhere to this now fairly standard practice however with the potential for it to have a mixed system of incompatible battery types with different charging specifications along with the cost factors involved to put in a 110% foolproof system its somewhat understandable. A coach builder has to do a bit more to pass muster and make it safe than a hobbyist who is adding lithium batteries to his own personal coach,
Perhaps as coach builders gain more experience with integrating Lithium house batteries with lead acid starting battery systems they will put the boost feature back or provide other means to ensure both battery systems will get charged without having to install aftermarket devices. By that time though Lithium as we know may already have been replaced by something else such as Carbon Fiber Batteries.

The new Views come standard with 200W of solar panels plus there's an option to have lithium batteries.
Would be reasonable for Winnebago to add something like the Amp-L-Start as an option or a standard feature, to provide charging of the engine battery.
Would also be reasonable for Winnebago to add a surge protector as an option, or make that standard.
Both of these features are likely added often after purchase...

I read somewhere that MB doesn’t allow any connection between the coach and the 2019 chassis electrical system. They are worried about interference with the new safety features
