Changing Rear View System

We have a 2008 Sightseer 30B and would like to upgrade the rearview camera from B&W to color. Has anyone done this and if so was it just a matter of swapping out the camera and monitor or did you have to replace the wiring ? I'd love to avoid replacing the wiring, so basically we are looking for something that is compatible with the current wiring and plugs.

Thanks

I just did this. While I was upgrading the headknocker TV I found a a cable labeled WDRV-2260, it was from the rear view camera and connected to my Panasonic GP-RV700 B/W Monitor. A quick internet search led me to RVCams.com and led me to purchase a Weldex WDRV-7041M 7" Color Monitor. It was an easy install using the existing cable and looks great, so much so I’ve ordered the color camera for it. You can just see it at the bottom of the picture hanging below the headknocker.

I changed out mine to color and just bought the right cable adapters for that unit. About $7 each on Ebay

Just so I understand ..... you bought a connector that mates the connector currently on the system to the new camera and monitor ?

Mine used four pin, twist-lock connectors so no adapter. You may require an adapter if replacing an older version that used four pin push-on connectors.
