Help Needed - 2018 View 24D
I have a 2018 View 24D . Yesterday I was changing out the coach batteries . Now I can't remember how to hook the batteries up . If someone would be so kind to take a picture of your battery compartment I would really appreciate it . I am hesitant to reconnect the batteries as I do not want to short things out and damage the 12 volt system .
THANKS VERY MUCH !

If you click on the image (or Tap on it on a mobile device) you will see a larger version. If you click/tap on that larger version it will open in a new window. Then you can zoom in on it to give your “old eyes” a bit of help.
From what I see I’d say this is it... but I’m not positive:

I think you got what you were looking for, but I wanted to point out those are the original OEM batteries that I changed out. Replaced, after some battery box modification, with two Trojan T-1275’s. Here’s the finished arrangement:

I had my right eye done in December. It’s made quite a difference. My left eye isn’t too bad yet. So, because of the cost I’m waiting on doing the left eye for now.
Even with Medicare my part was $4,000 for one eye.

my apologies for hijacking the original post, just another question please, did you mod the box because of the weight and height of the trojans? I suspect the Navion battery box is the same as the View but have concerns about the weight of the batteries in a future battery upgrade I have planed.

The Trojans are quite a bit larger (taller and longitudinally longer, but essentially about the same width) and heavier, so the box modification was made to accommodate that. The center portion of the original box bottom remains, but the ends had to be cut off and modified to make room.
Picture yourself somewhat kneeled down outside of the steps and peering horizontally toward the battery box ...
The original bottom was kinda like this (pretend the vertical on the left end is on the right end, too):
|
—____—
Now it’s like this (pretend the two verticals on the left end are on the right end, too):
|
|
————-
So the box bottom is now continuously deep from one end to the other (which is physically to the rear and front of the motorhome). I crafted L-shaped metal pieces to pop rivet into place from both vertical ends to the remaining existing box bottom.
Is that clear as mud? Hard to explain

Keep in mind, if you go for the Trojan T-1275 batteries, each weighs 85lbs. Get yourself one of those battery lifting straps with hooks on the ends to help wrangle them into the battery box. Without the strap, too many opportunities for finger injuries.

Yep- looks just like my 18ND before replacing them with LiFePo Battle Born batteries.

Does it matter which battery the positive cable from the fuse is hooked to?
Mine is connected to left battery while your pictures have it to the right one.
Thanks

I have 2 12 volt batteries. Also connections from the MH and the lines from my solar, each go to one battery. One to the pos on one and the the neg to the other battery.
Last night I read that the MH cables could come of the same battery, not split like mine and maybe the solar should go to the same battery?
Thanks, I am a little confused, I should have taken pictures before installing the new batteries.
