Hoping to be a 26T owner

I am a Canadian (wintering in Florida for last 20 yrs) that put a deposit on a 26T Dec 1 20 from Lichtsinn RV, local to the factory. ( I did order to Canadian specs as I will take it back to Canada). Originally told it should be fourth quarter of 21 and got one email about a Sept-Oct date, then a new email that delays it to Q1 of 22. The reason was that Winnebago cannot get the chassis from Ford. The chassis is not affected by the Canadian specs ordered. Are others having these delays?

Hi Cookie,
Yes, we have been hearing of these delays. As we are in Q2 of 2022, it would seem your 26T is now later than late! Has Lichtsinn given you another update? You might ask them if your VIN number is available. We have heard that the E-450 chassis is "more available" than the E-350 chassis for a 22M. The 26T only comes on an E-450, so maybe that is a good thing? Hopefully, you will have your new Minnie Winnie soon, but no matter how you slice it, seventeen months is a long time to wait (so far.)
My next door neighbor ordered an Escape 5.0 TA 5th wheel trailer in November of 2020, and he will be lucky to get it before this year is out. I guess both US and Canadian manufacturers are having the same supply issues now.
Oh well; good things come to those who wait.

Ford, in general, is having a hard time getting product off the assembly line. One would assume they are shifting their limited parts availability to the highest profit products. I would imagine the E series chassis are not as high on the list as the F series products or the Bronco (which demand is crazy high apparently).

Automakers in general are having a historically abysmal time building product. RV production may be improving by leaps and bounds in the towables segment, but motorhomes still need a chassis to get started.

Thanks for the feedback. Lichtsinn does give me frequent updates but they (and Winnebago) are still tied up with the supply chain issues. Just have to wait it out.
