House battery charging while driving fix
I noticed on a trip out to Yellowstone when driving 6 hours and pulling in to campground slide would go out slower no..then notice batteries at 7 volts . rest of trip back to tampa would pull in and hook up shore power for 15 minutes and slide would go out fast . Back in tampa I did the upgraded silver contacts 200 watt solenoid and tossed the OEM 80 watt copper contact solenoid . works great easy $40 fix . We have full anything replacement warranty , but 15-20 day appt backup schedule isn't fun .
The solenoids are under passenger seat (4 bolts , a regular socket fits the unique bolt heads .Disconnect the chassis battery by the gas(diesel) pedal and disconnect the house battery cables under step. The last pic is the original single power terminal OEM solenoid . getting its ground leg from the metal case mounting . the new Cole Hersey solenoid has a 2 12v power terminals instead to facilitate mounting on wood or fiberglass in say a sailboat situation . polarity is not designated nor needed , interchangeable terminals , one just has to go to mounting base plate screw to pickup ground leg. Also in that pic is a pic of the red warranty seal which locks nuts from loosening or at least will show if has been disconnected or loose . I figured if a tech was trouble shooting there is a possibility it would go unnoticed as factory ,
or at the least done properly .
