Navion 24d

Heading to Alaska in mid May. Have read that mosquitos are as large as airplanes. Would like to buy/fashion cab side window mosquito screens to use during the warm nights when we’re boondocking. Have seen many sites on Google offering rear window screens/shades but none designed for the Sprinter. Anyone know of a site offering side window screens or providing instructions to make an effective screen?

Google this:

sprinter cab window screens

You’ll see several options from different suppliers. Didn’t see any on Amazon.

Thanks, Warren, but the search primarily showed back and side door screens. One dealer advertised cab door screens for $236 but I thought that was a bit much. I have a Navion 24D so I won’t need side and back door screens. Seems odd that no one offers reasonably priced cab door screens. May have to jerry rig the screens. And keep a can of bug spray on hand.

Take a look at these (they seem reasonable, there’s an option for 2008-2018 for $139):

They look to be secure for when you are sleeping.

I made some screens for my Tacoma several years ago so the dog could get air without letting bugs into the camper pass through. Bought some screen and cut out the shape of the door windows. Then I wrapped the edges with duct tape, adding strips cut from a roll of magnetic tape. Took about an hour and 20 bucks. It worked fine the few times we used them.
The adhesive on the magnetic tape was weak. In hind sight I would have used stronger magnets and taped them into the edging.
Regards, Mike

And, Seymour2Lane, that’s my plan if I can’t soon find an affordable bug screen on line. Just waiting for a warm New Hampshire day to start the process. Does your method attach to the outside frame with magnets or fold over the top and both sides so as to be held firmly in place when the doors are closed? And then use the magnets to hold down the bottom of the screen to the outside side of the door? The winters in NH are good for thinking and overthinking problems. Thanks for your suggestion.

On the Tacoma, I sized the screens to fit on the outside of the doors. They stayed on even when the door was slammed.
I've thought about making a set for our View but haven't needed too so far.
Found a picture that you may have to zoom a bit to see.
BTW, that was a great little camper- "the Hooch".

Tried to enlarge the photo but it pixelated. But I understand the idea and will take a shot at fashioning something similar. Once I chip the snow and ice away from my Navion. Thanks again.
