remove sofe exchange for two recliners

I have a 2018 31D and am thinking of removing the sofa/sleeper and replacing with two theater recliners, Has anyone attempted or completed this? It would be easier watching tv and being able to stretch out. thanks:

Did it on my 31G and we love it. We went with 67" RecPro theater seating to fit into foot print of jack knife couch. It is so much more comfortable to sit inside. We lost one sleeping area but that was not important to us.

I've been wanting to do this very same thing in my Vista LX 30T. However, my slideout depth where the sofa is currently is not very deep. I feel most Theater seating is too deep to work for me.

It's a great mod but measure, measure, measure. The width is an obvious limitation but the front to back measurement is critical. You may find that, to fully recline, the base of the chair may overhang the edge of your slide. Also, securely mounting it may be a challenge.

We found that a battery back-up is highly desirable for those times you don't have shore power. They run about $100 and, with a Y adapter, can be used to power two chairs. We have one at home and it will power one recliner for about a week of normal use.

I too replaced the couch in my 2011 Journey Express with 67” RecPro recliners right before leaving for the winter on January 6. Best thing I ever did. It was a last minute decision. RecPro shipped almost immediately so I was able to put them in before leaving.

I did the RecPro double recliner theater seating in our 2016 Vista 30T is was an easy install. If you do a search on this you can find how I did it and how others did. I posted pictures of it also....

My slide isn't deep enough either. I put in a sheet of 3/4" plywood that was the width of the clamps that held down the sofa and the depth needed to support the recliners. That way I did not have to drill any new holes in the slideout. I then attached the recliners to the plywood.

Recliner install

I also took out the very uncomfortable sofa sleeper. The slide out section was not quite deep enough so I removed the carpet on edge of slide and scanned on a piece of wood actress the front and bought carpet that almost matched and tacked and glued to front of slide . I screwed chairs down where old couch supports were. We bought a Flexsteel duel recliner leather theater seat and it is so comfortable. It is a bit high since it is up on top of the slide but very very comfortable.
