removing headrest mounts for seat covers

Hi, I have a 1992 Toyota/Winnie Warrior-like one off design. I would like to remove the seat covers to clean them, but there is a plastic mount on top of the seat that accepts the mounting rods for the headrests. The seat cover, although it has zippers for removing, is tucked under these rectangular pieces of plastic, and I am reluctant to just start prying on them. How might I safely remove these, knowing that I will be able to re-install them. Thanks.

Hi Bubblecuffer,
After looking at this post on another site, it appears that they cannot be removed. I'm guessing you can just pull-out the cover, and then tuck it back under the clips when done.
