2306BHS Bottom Bunk Lighting Change

One of my worries about the 2306BHS is the temperature differential of the bunk area. There are no HVAC vents for the bunks. I was worried enough that I made a light to replace the one that was there. This one has a fan and I added USB ports to it as well so that the bottom bunk would have the luxuries of the top bunk.

Over Labor Day we went to the Outerbanks. It was hot with no shade so the AC got a workout. I'm pleased to report that my son, on the top bunk, had no complaints about it being too hot.

I was glad to have my fan... It provided a little more white noise and I liked the air blowing around my head. I was comfortable the whole time.

If I was Winnebago I might think about installing two adjustable vents in the wall beside the bunk. just a thought.

The video in the link below is crude but you can get the idea.

Nice Job, Looks Great. Ours has bunks, but nowadays we just use them for storage. Did you cut by hand or use a cnc?

Thanks! I used a CO2 laser to do the cutting. I resawed and planed down some walnut and the white lettering is acrylic. The mirror is acrylic,

Awesome work! What is a CO2 laser? Were the box joints done with it also?

ETA: I Googled the laser, cool stuff! I’ve definitely fallen into the old school woodworking category......

Anthropod, Cool work. Never have used a laser. I've been using a cnc to make a few parts for my coach. I built it from basically scratch. Thought about building a laser model, but it's not in the cards yet.Maybe some day. I've got too many hobbies for the time I have. Well maybe..........
Great Work, Great Design.
