2500rl purchase- advice

Hey all - new to the forum so hello all. Admittedly not quite a Winnebago owner yet but going to look at a used 2018 2500rl.

Currently own a smaller Jayco hybrid x17z so the 2500rl is a step up. Would be interested in any feedback from 2500rl owners on what they like/dislike, or what to look for when inspecting.

Also planning on towing with a silverado 1500 V8 5.3L with payload rating of 1720 lbs. anyone towing a 2500 with something similar?

I tow my 2401rg, which is the same trailer with a different layout, with a Ram 2500. Been through towing with "just enough" one time too many. With a weight distribution hitch, you will probably be OK. I already had the 2500 for my boat. If I had a 1/2 ton, I would have selected a smaller trailer. Also, this is a great video that could be called "Towing and Cargo Cpacities For Dummies:

Thanks for the feedback Old Navy. Very nice video. I ran the numbers, and assuming the trailer ends up weighing a 1000 pounds more than the UVW on the sticker, and 15% on the tongue, I would end up about 200 pounds under my payload limit, about 1800 pounds under my GCVWR, and at about 65% of my rated towing capacity. This is making reasonably conservative estimates for cargo and passengers in the truck.

Of course these are all estimates, and real world experiences are the best measure!

We have a 2500FL and tow it with a F-250. Last year when we loaded up the truck and trailer for a month-long journey the CAT scales indicated we had 5% margin to TT GVWR, 21% margin to TV GVWR, and 23% margin to GCWR. The tongue weight was 780#.

We have the same 2018 2500 RL Minnie trailer. Went from looking at R-Pod to a micro Minnie to the regular Minnie. We tow with a 2017 F150 with the 3.5L V-6 with regular tow package. Don't have any problems. But I tend to drive slower.
