City Water Intake
I am new to the travel trailer scene so if this has been asked before please excuse me for asking again.
I have the trailer a 2106DS winterized, used the siphon hose with the water pump. That was a chore taking off the cover under the sink then trying to find the siphon hose and the associated valve, The hoses were tucked into the wall cavity and were hard to locate but with the help of one of the Winnebago staff I manged to pull the correct one out of the wall.
So, using the siphon hose carefully pumped the antifreeze through each appliance and each facet hot and cold. I had of course drained the hot water tank and set the bypass as well as drained the fresh water tanks and waste tanks as well.
The manual tells you to also open the petcock valves to drain the system but on some trailers those valves it is not necessary as the hot and cold water lines continue past the petcock valves and feed the two showers. As I watched the antifreeze come out both the hot and cold shower connections I know that the line is full of antifreeze.
A hint that they did not to be drained was that the two valve were completely covered with foam on the underside of the trailer. Wish Winnebago would make that clear that some trailers did not have to have the petcocks opened.
However, I now have a question as to the City Water inlet. There is no reference to it being winterized in the Towables manual. I see that Camco had a hand pump kit that has a regular garden hose connection on it.
I assume then that pump would then connect to the City Water supply and I could pump some antifreeze into that inlet.
Now did others address winterizing and the City Water connection.
