Thanks, again, skeetman; I'll give him a try. Coincidentally, we picked up our 1708 the same day you picked up yours.

I'm trying to follow Winnebago's "solution" based on the photo in your post. Is the shroud somehow sealed to the clear poly dome, or are they just increasing the size of the shroud to make it more unlikely you'll find there is a water issue hiding under there?
My 2019 2108DS has this problem. I have no idea how long it'll be for mildew to form or worse, but seems good to be proactive and do something about it. I really like the idea of an inner dome, but the only one I can find in the 14"x14" size is white. I'd like it to be clear like the outer dome. The original shroud is good to hide the raw construction, of course, but I think it'll need some drain holes or spacing to let the condensation out.

To answer everybody’s question about the replacement shroud/dome. I got my replacement and installed it today. It is a complete unit, that being a new shroud with an attached dome.
You just put it inside the opening and it covers up the original dome for a complete seal, holds in place with four screws like the original. I’ve attached pictures of it before installation and when mounted.

Skeetman, was that covered under warranty or did they charge you for it?

This is the response that I got.
I understand that you have expressed some concerns to a salesman of our, Mark Gerber. He has made me aware that you are concerned with the skylight in the bathroom being a potential area for concern. It is also my understanding that you have requested that this shroud be sent directly to you. The purpose of my email today is to let you know that we would be happy to send this part to you, at no charge. Adding the shroud was a recent change that was made to our current models, but I do want to assure you that your unit was built correctly, and we do not believe it is an area for concern. However for your piece of mind, as stated before, we will be sending one out at no charge as a goodwill gesture. If I could just have you confirm the shipping address you would like this part sent to, I can get that order created for you.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Thanks, Skeetman, that's exactly what I was curious about. I would hope they extend the
same consideration to us.

Just pick up my 2108 FBS yesterday. I went out and looked and I have the same issue. Also, there is no sealant at the bottom. It should be caulked there to water proof it.

Not generally a good idea to seal things at their bottom point because water that manages to get in from above cannot escape.
House painters are probably the worst at understanding that, caulking up places that are not designed to be caulked. The worst example I've ever seen of that was caulking between the bottom of a gutter and the fascia board. Any water that got behind the gutter had no place to go and caused the paint on the fascia board to separate from the wood. But they'll often caulk up slots above windows and crawlspace vents that are designed to be a place to let water out.

If you've already taken delivery, good luck with getting remediation from Winnebago. I've been around and around with Customer Service to no avail. They'll work with you if you're a prospective buyer, but once you've finalized the deal, forget it. I discovered the issue the day after bringing ours home. They won't replace ours, but they'll sell us one.

Sorry to hear that they’re not sending you a replacement dome as a courtesy like they did for me Troutbum. I think if enough owners complain they would, but mine was just purchased and I also had the dealership put in the request also, so I don’t know if that made a difference or not. Hopefully it isn’t that expensive, but in either case I think it’d be worth it long term.

Wondering if you take down the trim and fill the the area with Flex Seal Paste. That should water proof that area. Then replace trim. I going to take the trim down tomorrow and get a better look at mine.

Thanks, skeetman. Had I discovered it 48 hours earlier, I could have had the dealer handle it. I have reached out to our dealer and they're looking into it, but the preliminary feedback I've gotten is that Hollie is stonewalling them, too. There is a lot we really like about our trailer, but I am disappointed in Winnebago's refusal to work with a new owner and a trailer that was picked up May 29th and has only 35 miles on it. I could understand if it was 6 months old, but... I agree with you that it's important enough to suck it up and buy it, if that's my only option.

Just emailed them to see what response I get. I have gap large enough for my finger tips to be able to touch the wood in the ceiling in my 1808.

I just emailed my dealer and it looks like they are not going to be of any help. They offer to make an appointment to diagnose the problem (in 6 weeks) but they are 5 hour drive away so not going to happen. I wonder if spraying some expandable foam in there would work. Any thoughts?

I would not recommend the foam as that could make a moisture problem worse.
Can't you just buy the part and install it yourself?
