No doubt installation only involves 4 screws and is trivial. I'm assuming from the photos that this part is really an inner dome of sorts that replaces the decorative garnish.

Has anyone found how much they want for this part? Inner domes look like they can run up to $100. Good profit for a hunk of cheap plastic .

I believe that this area needs to be 100% water proof. You are going to be using hot water while showering. Water vapor is going to get in the unsealed areas. Constant wetting of the wood is going to cause rot. It may take 7 to 8 years but it will rot. I hope Winnebago will provide a solution. If not I plan to some now seal mine totally, top and bottom.

Do not seal the bottom! That will lead to problems. You want to provide an area for moisture to escape, and gravity is the draw. The shower isn't the only potential source of moisture in that area.

You theory is to give a way for the way to get out. Mine is to never let water or vapor get in. You go your and I will go mine. If you let water get in and wet the wood it will rot. Not a short term process. It will take years but it will rot.

From below is not the only way for water to get in, and it's in fact a very unlikely way for it to get in given gravity.

A lot of people have had their houses painted by people who think the way you are thinking, and they end up with costly repairs down the road and/or mold conditions. You do not block water in. That's pretty basic maintenance advice.

But you can do what you want. I'm trying to prevent others from following what I consider to be very bad advice.

Oh nice, and not too crazy expensive imho. For us Winnebago newbies, what means did you use the contact Winnebago for parts like this? I need to learn how to do this as I'm sure I have other parts I'll want to procure!

Initially I submitted the online contact form on their website. Hollie Myers in Customer Service replied with her contact information and forwarded my request to Parts. Melissa Chandler in Parts replied with her contact information and I ordered through her. They both were very quick to respond.

Same result

Stone walled by Hollie. Email forwarded to Melissa in parts. New flange costs $ 28 plus $20 for shipping and tax. I went ahead and bought it.

Hollie must be getting ticked off and the good will account is empty. She said there was no reason for concern and it wasn’t a design flaw. But They went ahead and changed the flange design anyway. Say what? Hollie when you read this, just know mold and rot are not “no concern” and “we’ve never had an issue” means nothing because the problem reveals itself after the warranty is up.

Ok I’m done with this. I’ll probably get Covid anyway and this will actually be a non issue. Perhaps Hollie was right.

Can you provide Melissa’s email? I’m a new owner of a 2108FSB and I need to order one.

I don’t understand why I’m expected to pay for this part when I just bought my 2108DS two months ago. Seems very odd.

I agree with you. My 2108 was purchased less than a month before I ordered the replacement part. Winnebago had a bad design and should fix it for purchaser.

Here the initial answer I got from the before buying and taking possession of my unit.

''Mr. Labrie,

The production facility where this model is built uses a garnish that goes to a roof vent. The TPO/roof material is supposed to overhang and cover that gap you saw/felt. See the below photo. This application has been done in this particular plant for many years, dating back to before Winnebago buying SunnyBrook RV.

It appears on this particular trailer, the application was not done correctly. We have made our production/operations team aware and when we come back from this COVID-19 shutdown, we will ensure this is corrected."

I am glad I got for free and event the part store at the dealer thought it was strange! Personally they is no way they could argue that their initial manufacturing design with the dome does not have a flaw.

My intention with this initial thread was to warn all of you and I was seriously hopping that your dealer would work to have it fix with Winnebago. It is disappointing that some large company don't take their responsibility!

I am anxious to see how my water leak will be resolves, bringing it to my dealer this Tuesday morning!

I have posted the video on Youtube Intitle ''Brand new 2020 Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108FBS with waterfall's''

I am documenting everything in case I ever need to dispute premature damages in the trailer due to to my 3 pipes busting in less than 5 weeks!

Best regards,
