Kiddie Mount on wall Micro Minnie 2106FBS

Hello, I have a 2017 2106FBS I bought used.

To the left of the entry door on the inside wall near the ceiling is a rectangular mounting plate. It references Kidde customer service.

The plate is about 4" square, held on by 2 screws. The detector is missing so unsure what model to buy to utilize the original plate.

Or do I have to replace the mounting plate with detector and drill new holes in the interior wall?

What you are missing is a Kiddie Carbon Monoxide Detector. I believe it was their 9CO5-LP model, since I remember it used 3 AA batteries instead of 2 batteries that the newer models use. I replaced mine this Spring with a BRK Electronics 1039885 Carbon Monoxide Detector and didn't keep the OEM one. I did have to make one new hole for my new detector but its base covered the unused hole. Here's a link to a post listing what I purchased when I changed out all my detectors. I wanted all RV approved detectors.

Attached is a picture of the wall plate.

The Kidde installation manual showcases a totally different type of install.

On this wall plate the detector slides down on to it. Unsure if that detector has groves on back for alternate mounting.

Worse case I too will drill and mount a replacement.

When I read the installation instructions for the detector I linked to, on page 13 it states to mount the wall plate and then slide the detector down over the mounting plate until it clicks.

Looks like they don't make it with the wall plate anymore, at least nobody has it anymore. https://www.landmsupply.com/kidde-rv...ector-21026855 but Amazon has the detector that looks similar, who knows if it will mount to the plate or not though? Does not look like it. https://www.amazon.com/Kidde-Battery...162977024&th=1 Since it's just a battery operated device I'd just order anything that will cover the holes, the plate looks pretty yellowed anyway.

Was in my local RV Dealership yesterday and they had both the digital ($113 CA) and non digital ($103 CA) units (Both made by Kidde) and included the mounting bracket. One had Atwood and the other Dometic imprinted on it.

I ordered the Kidde unit (Kidde C3010-D-CA) in a 2 pack from my local Costco ($84 CA). Looking closely maybe by removing the back of the Kidde unit it will slide over the OEM plate. If not I'm thinking Kidde probably used the same hole pattern.

Keep you posted

New model fits mount

The new Kidde C3010-CA-D-CA Carbon Monoxide Alarms arrived today. Mounting holes are off slightly.

The bracket that is included with the detector turns the detector on and is then active for the 10 years as this is the life of the sealed battery.

You can then remove the alarm from the included mount and place it on the factory RV mount (Dometic/Atwood). Removing the detector from the included mount does not turn the detector off or deactivate it, but is required to activate the alarm one time.
