My experience

When fully retracted and in, the slide out of my 2108DS seems to get the outside screws back out, when travelling rough roads.

No need to go to the dealer for that. Just add screws into new locations. To help support the weight of the pull out while travelling, I install a wood block or jack under it. As previously stated NEVER sit at the pull out table when it is all the way in.
