Yeah, thats true. I can get one for about $4k less than what I can locally. But, then I have to take in to acct 18hr drive each way. Or a plane ticket + one way drive. Time off work. Time away from family. No local dealer support for whatever warranty work you can squeek out of them.
Etc, etc. In the end I could prolly save $1500-$2000 after expenses.

2020 2108ds
Cost at tradein was $22K plus an awning over the slide out and a hitch chain/electric consolidator that fits over the hitch jack control head. Gave us $8,500 tradein on 2014 2106fbs, red one, meaning $14,000 at purchase. (Figure $500 for the addons and so forth). This was in Indiana, not far from where the trailer was made. Have to say I like the extra height and the bigger wheels on this model, and it is laid out in a manner that it is easy to wire up solar panels, place your inverter and controller inside close to the batteries.

Coax receptacle question
Question for Micro Minnie community:
Above the television in our 2106DS there are two coax receptacles, one of which is occupied by the coax cable from tv and undoubtedly connects to rooftop antenna. Nothing is attached to the other receptacle. It is available for another coax cable to be plugged into - but for what? I can find no info in manual that identifies the purpose or available uses for the unused receptacle - big surprise, eh?
Can someone offer help/suggestions for what uses(s) we can make of this unused connection opportunity?

They aren't labeled? They should have stickers on them for CABLE and ANTENNA.

Towing 2108 with Canyon
Howdy,
I’m new to the forum, and probably posted in the wrong place. Just bought a new 6cyl gas GMC Canyon with factory trailer braking. We want to buy a 2108DS or FBS, but want to hear from someone who has a similar rig before we buy. Do you need anti-sway bar or just LD hitch? Any problems towing with Gas Canyon or Colorado? Do you need extension mirrors?

I had a Colorado when I bought my 2108ds, it pulled okay, I used a weight distribution hitch (the equalizer), and yes extension mirrors. It was “okay” for towing, but it didn’t seem to be a “comfortable” tow. When we looked at longer trips, Maine to Florida, I traded for a Tahoe. I like that better.

We’re stuck now with the canyon. If I had a do over I should have bought the Duramax. Maybe we should consider a smaller TT

I really like the 2108ds, we’ve spent up to six weeks in it in one trip, plenty of room for the two of us. You’re truck will tow the camper, it has enough power, and will handle okay. I’m probably a bit spoiled...

Spoiled
Yeah,
Can understand you being spoiled. We had a Silverado HD a few years ago, but my wife wouldn’t drive it. She said it was too big for her to feel comfortable. She drove the Canyon and was cool cuz it’s not much bigger than her SUV. Since we’ll be taking some long trips, like Newfoundland, it’s important for wife to be ok with driving. Also, at my age and health, she has to be able to drive the rig in case something happens to me.

I've towed with trucks similar to the Canyon, should be workable with a WDH. 2012 Tacoma 4.0l V6 held 50mph pulling 4000lbs at high altitude over Vail and Ike passes on I-70. Could even accelerate a wee bit maneuvering around 18-wheelers. Engine screaming near redline dropping into 2nd gear at times but that was at 10k ft altitude.
Midsize gassers are workable as tow vehicles. I like the versatility as a daily driver and maneuverability offroad when you unhook. Small fuel tanks are a pain towing but there's always tradeoffs with RV'ing.

dry tongue weight
The dry tongue weight on the micro mini I am buying says 340. That doesn't include the propane tanks and the electric jack, right? How much is it all together? I have a 500# limit.

After reviewing all the specs, I’m thinking we would be better off looking for a used 2106. Lower dry weight, less tongue weight, and shorter tip to tail than 2108. And, I dunno, but I don’t think you give up that much with smaller 2106. Since Winnebago has discontinued the 2106, we have fewer choices. My wife wants a new TT, but a 2 yr old 2106 can be had for $5K less than a new 2108.

cable not working?
First, make sure your TV is on the correct HDMI selection. Press Input on remote. Select CABLE.
Second, try switching your outside hookup from cable to satellite. Sometimes they don't get the wiring right or connect it at all. If neither of these work, call your dealer's service tech and ask him what to do.

From Winnebago Service Cente tech support:
Comfort Tech Package
Laminated, block foam sidewalls
Radiant technology foil wrapping
Roof-mounted A/C systems
Tinted Windows
Insulated heating ducts
Heated tanks
Enclosed underbelly
The Heated tanks come from a single duct direct from the furnace to the underbelly area.

Climate Package
more info from Winnebago:
Winnebago recommends winterizing the unit when temperatures are to reach 32 or below. Even with the Comfort Tech Packages, the trailers are still considered a 3 seasons camper. The heated tanks on your model and manufacturer time is done by the furnace duct. The furnace can stay light while in travel, but we do not recommend using the propane source while in travel, as this could be a safety risk. I unfortunately do not have any other information or documentation regarding this package.
----------------------------
Hope this helps.
The Service Center Tech rep was VERY HELPFUL in providing me schematics of the electrical, heating, overhead, plumbing, water, etc. Don't be afraid to ask.

We get maybe a dozen days a year when temps dip below freezing, but I don't think I've heard of anyone winterizing their RV. I guess I could fun the furnace at night for those few days, or just make sure everything is dry.

Regarding winterizing....when you plan to travel and camp during the winter, how do you winterize and continue to be able to use the bathroom and water systems?
