It’s wired to the battery. The rv has a solar controller (which I currently use for the roof panel) I assume it’s part of the circuit too.

Generally, if there is a controller they wire the outside Aux port to the controller and then that is wired to the battery.

If yours is wired directly to the battery - even though you have a charge controller elsewhere - you need to buy a portable solar briefcase WITH a built in charge controller.

So, be double sure where those wires from the Aux port are going.

I would certainly expect that it's wired like a zamp plug. But if you can check the wires and see. Heck, you can use a multi-meter right on that port and tell.

If it is wired in Zamp fashion that unsheathed portion on the left in your photo would be positive and that female portion on the right would be negative.

If it's not wired like a Zamp plug then that would be opposite Negative on left and Positive on right.

NOTE: the above assumes the port is not wired to your solar charge controller.
