If a brake part is loose in the drum it can do much more damage if you drive with it that way.

What to do? Call a mobile RV tech to come to you.

How could we answer confidently since we don’t know what’s wrong with your brakes, we don’t know the distance you’re towing, the roads you’ll be on, the condition of your truck’s brakes and a dozen other variables?

You said your brakes were making “a banging noise.” So you’ll have to determine the suitability of such a trip.

You could call a towing company.

Your Ranger cannot handle stopping your Micro Minnie with no trailer braking. Your vehicle brakes will fade very quickly unless you are on flat pavement driving VERY slowly.

Well, tell us what you did. It's June 24. I figure you got it done by now.

Take the wheels off and have a look under the drums, do they look different from side to side? Has something come loose? Driving without trailer brakes is illegal in most jurisdictions, so you will not be insured if you have an accident!
