NEW: extreme weather package

Does anyone know the details on the new Extreme Weather Package that Winnebago is now offering as an option on it's 2019 trailers? Heard it has extra insulation and heated tanks. Searched the Winnebago site, but couldn't find anything.

Mine has the “Four Season” package...I wonder if that’s the same thing. Dealer told me the underside is sealed and heat is run around/near the tanks. Not sure if there’s anything else...well, other than the polar bear sticker on the side of the trailer.

They've offered the extreme weather package for a number of years. When we we're looking we tried to find one with that here in FL with no luck. My understanding the floor, roof, and slide out all had extra insulation + insulated tanks. Think roof and floor were suppose to have R30 equivalent but didn't recall heated tanks, but maybe that's added now.

My 2101 has the 4 seasons package. The bottom is sealed with a plastic underbelly. There are large cut-outs through the floor, one where the water pipes come up to the pump and one for the drain pipes near the furnace. The furnace draws warm air from one down into the underbelly and the other up to the furnace. It seems to have extra insulation but surprisingly it does not have double pain windows.
A mistake on my part caused me to get water down under there. I hope you can visualize what a nightmare it is to get in there to work on anything under the floor!

My 1705RD has all of the above and I assure you it does not have the "4 season package".

I found a blog about it as we are looking to buy and it does add insulation to the walls and the underbelly. Looks like it would be a big help in both winter and summer.

The salesman talks about it. Skip to the 9:00 mark. Sounds like a thermofoil sheet over the top and Astrofoil bubblewrap in the enclosed underbelly.

if my minnie 5th wheeler, 2018, has extreme weather package what temps should i be concerned about pipes and tanks freezing if it sits awhile with no heat in it?

Basically the extreme weather package means that it will retain heat from your heat source longer. Without the heat source it will cool off slower but will eventually reach the temperature that it is outside assuming extended days of sub freezing temperatures.

I would winterize it just like a normal trailer.

We ordered it on our 19 26rbss along with the double pane windows. We got it a month ago and camped a few days in northern Michigan. 50 deg days and 30 deg nights. We were very comfortable and when it was over freezing temps I turned the furnace off and used our Dyson space heater which didn’t struggle at all. We have nothing to compare it to, but happy we did. We’ll see how it goes when it’s hot. P.s it made no sense to order it without getting the double pane windows.

Ok, here's the deal.
We just got a 2019 Minnie Winnie 2106ds with the Extreme weather package.

First time out practice run, our fresh water tank froze.
Good thing it was just an overnight.
Now I have to worry about cracks in the tank... Later on that.

The sticker says enclose and heated tanks.
There are no controls for tank heaters.

After getting home and winterizing, I took all the panels out.
There is simply a hose running from the heater into a hole in the floor. Smaller than the one going to the bathroom.

How cold did it get? You must have the furnace running to get the warm air into the tank area. We had no issues with 22 degree temps at night while in MT while using the furnace at night. It did warm up to the high 40's daytime. Hope when thawed out your tanks are OK.

Just picked my trailer up and it has extreme weather package. Tank use furnace vent in underbelly to heat insulated underbelly and the other part is an upgraded 15k btu a/c unit for extreme summer heat. I live in arizona so I need a 15k btu for 115 degree summer days at the lake and heated under belly for hunting in 0 degrees in the winter.

You would think it would have heat pads on the tanks like other manufacturers use. Wonder if they could be added?

When I was researching & thinking of purchasing the micro minnie trailer, I read some of the 2019 MM have this package, someone said to look at the sticker, think polar bear, on the camper, they were the ones that had the extreme weather package & heated water tank. I called a local dealer, got the vin number from the 2 he had on the lot, called winnebago & insisted on talking to a technical person, not a salesman, they put me me through to warranty dept., gave her the vin numbers, checked them & said they both had it. Also read a blog where a woman called winnebago directly, spoke to a technician, they looked at their inventory, found one, & sent it to her local dealer. I believe some of the 2019 have it, & others do not, get the vin number & have them check to be sure. We're new to towing, so not sure about our comfort zone doing so. Still figuring it out.
